Tobias de Haan (b.1993) is a
Dutch documentary maker using photography and film, currently based in Amsterdam, NL. Through community engagement and social work he collaborates, provides and activates the people and communities he works with. Motivated by a sense of care for others, he largely works with marginalized and vulnerable individuals.
His long-term projects provide a platform for the people he meets, creating insights into unseen worlds. He actively averts the conventional one-way maker-subject relationship that defines many visual practices.
Tobias graduated in 2023 with a BA in Photography from the Royal Academy of Arts The Hague (KABK). Since then, the social organization De Regenboog Groep in Amsterdam has commissioned him multiple times to create work within their community.
